painting is a dance
Jackie Paloma (b. 1994) is an intuitive abstract artist based in Cologne, Germany. From the age of 14 she grew up in Bath and London, United Kingdom.
Her artistic journey began as a young child fully committed to Ballet training, followed with a passion for Contemporary Dance and classes in Choreography. Movement and using the physical body as an instrument plays a central role in her abstract art today. Large canvases have become her new stage and allow herself to move freely, expressively and dynamically.
Her vibrant and charismatic nature is evident from her choice in colors, exuding a sense of vibrancy, excitement and passion. Her paintings are built up in multiple stages, requiring her to leave a painting and come back to it - that in itself feels like a dance to her.
She often draws inspiration from artists like Joan Mitchell, Martha Jungwirth and Megan Rooney.
